Michelle Moss, a local Realtor with the Reynolds Team of Compass, is a breast cancer survivor who completed all of her treatment here on the Treasure Coast. Diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in May of 2017, Michelle underwent 1 year of treatment and has been cancer free since 2018. Although she was fortunate to have a fantastic support system and excellent health insurance she recognizes that many others are not so fortunate. She attributes much of the success of her treatments to the fact that she was able to focus her attention solely on her battle, without the stresses of the logistics and exorbitant costs of breast cancer treatment.
Michelle created Pink in Paradise as a non profit to support local charitable organizations. Using community connections she has made as a local Realtor, Michelle would like to raise awareness and support for Treasure Coast women battling the disease. The mission is for every local woman to have the same success she experienced.
Friends After Diagnosis is a support organization for local women diagnosed with cancer, others with breast cancer, and their loved ones on Florida’s Treasure Coast. Friends After Diagnosis is located in Vero Beach, Florida and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Enhancing the lives of women diagnosed with cancer, others with breast cancer, and their loved ones through regular support meetings, education, wellness programming, celebration, and networking.
Regular meetings are the lifeblood of Friends After Diagnosis because they find the best support comes from those who can draw from their own experience. Each month there are meetings that are open to patients, survivors, and their loved ones and caregivers. All meetings provide time for open discussion, and there is an educational guest speaker once per month.
Wellness programming is the other primary way that survivors use Friends to enhance their lives. Through partnerships with other organizations, Friends offerings include programs in Pilates, equine-assisted therapy, crew rowing, and dance fitness.
These programs and other special events foster fellowship that helps survivors feel more connected and secure in the knowledge that they have friends who truly care.
